Career coaching conversations with Claire Harvey
Working in partnership on a journey of collaborative inquiry, we together curate a high-trust space to explore and unpack life’s more important questions
About me
Having spent my school years in Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs, I went on to complete a Bachelor of Commerce at Monash University with majors in Accounting, Administration and Management. As much as accounting was a natural fit for my rather organised temperament, my deeper interest has always been in seeking to better understand people and society, and taking the time to stop and think. Whether through the lens of economics, philosophy or theology, the bigger ‘why’ questions have always intrigued me. My varied career has included work in retail, business, not-for-profits, training & education, carbon accounting and aged care. Recently I spent several years working as both Careers Advisor and HR Manager in a K-12 school in Langwarrin South, and I now work part time as the People & Culture Manager at The Village Baxter.
A recent shift toward transformational coaching has been catalysed by my desire to better integrate the many varied (and often complex) facets of life into deeper and more mature career conversations - especially around significant life transitions & ecological concern.
I am working toward my ICF accreditation, having completed coaching training with the International Coaching Federation. I am a Professional member of the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA), a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), and a new member of the Climate Coaching Alliance.
Along with coaching and being a mum, between 2020 and 2024 I served as an elected Councillor at Frankston City Council, including as the Chair of the South East Councils Climate Change Alliance (SECCCA), Councillor delegate to the board of Peninsula Leisure Pty Ltd, and a member of Frankston City Council’s Housing Advisory Committee.
My service in the community includes being an Honorary Justice of the Peace (JP), a member of the Ethos board, the Uniting Church Vic/Tas rep to the Co-Power board, and a contributor to the Manna Gum reference group.
